In this refined kuchi-e (口絵) woodblock print, entitled "Shunsui" (春水), that is the spring water generated by melting snow, a young woman does her laundry on the banks of a stream on a windy day.

The work, made in April 1909 by the artist Tsutsui Toshimine (筒井年峰), is taken from vol. 15 n. 5 of Bungei Kurabu (文芸倶楽部), the famous literary magazine published from 1895 to 1933 by the Hakubunkan (博文館) publishing house.

The print on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite the right signs of aging and the presence of slight imperfections on the margins, is in overall good condition.
