Important vertical diptych of original woodblock prints of the tachibijin-zu (立美人図) type, that is "portrait of a standing beauty", made by the famous artist Keisai Eisen (渓斎英泉) and depicting an oiran (花魁) courtesan lighting an andon (行灯) paper lamp.

The work was produced in the 1830s by the publisher Maruya Jinpachi (丸屋甚八), owner of Enjudo (円寿堂).

The prints on Japanese washi paper (和紙) are in overall good condition, despite the right patina of the time and the presence of small woodworm holes and restorations as well as slight wrinkles, fold marks and thinnings.
