Beautiful polychrome woodblock print of vertical large oban (大判) format, made by the artist Utagawa Yoshiiku (歌川芳幾) and depicting the courtesans Shigerie (重り枝) and Omi (大見), in the company of two young kamuro (禿) assistants, inside the house of pleasure Okamoto (岡本楼).

The work is taken from the series "Thirty-six Selected Flowers in Full Bloom: Their Own Calligraphy" (全盛自筆三十六花撰) and was produced in May 1870 by the publisher Yorozuya Magobei (万屋孫兵衛), owner of Kineido (錦栄堂).

The print on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite the right signs of aging including the presence of wrinkles, is in fair condition.
