Diptych of polychrome woodblock prints of vertical chuban (中判) format made in March 1861 by the artist Utagawa Yoshitaki (歌川芳滝) on the occasion of the staging, at the Naka-za (中座) theater in Osaka, of the play "Grief for a Gentle Flower and Revenge at Kameyama" (敵討優曇華亀山). In the left panel the actor Arashi Kichisaburo III (三代目嵐吉三郎) plays the role of the villain Akabori Mizuemon (赤堀水右衛門) and, on the right, Nakano Tobei (中野藤兵へ) is played by the actor Onoe Tamizo II (二代目尾上多見蔵). The prints on Japanese washi paper (和紙), dedicated to the eleventh act of the popular "revenge play" mentioned above, despite the presence of slight wrinkles and stains, are in good condition.
