Fine large vertical format original woodblock print, taken from the series "Thirty-six Elegant Selections" (三十六佳撰) by the artist Mizuno Toshikata (水野年方) and entitled "Snow Viewing: Woman of the Kanbun Era" (雪見 寛文頃婦人).

The work, produced in 1891 by the publisher Akiyama Buemon (秋山武右衛門), owner of Kokkeido (滑稽堂), depicts a bijin (美人) beauty, in the company of a girl and a man, on board a boat sailing in the fascinating setting of a snowy landscape.

The print on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite the right signs of aging including some small spots and slight folds in the lower left part, is in overall good condition thanks also to an effective relining carried out on the back.
