Elegant polychrome woodblock print of vertical large oban (大判) format made in March 1898 by the artist Miyagawa Shuntei (宮川春汀) and entitled "Murasame" (村雨), that is "A Passing Shower".

The work, depicting two girls under a tree by a river and a pair of white herons, is taken from the series "A Guide to Manners and Customs" (風俗通), produced by the publisher Fukuda Hatsujiro (福田初次郎), owner of Gusokuya (具足屋).

The print on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite the right signs of aging, is in very good general condition.
