Refined polychrome woodblock print made around 1905 by the artist Yamamoto Eishun (山本英春), a pupil of Migita Toshihide (右田年英) and author of many kuchi-e (口絵) prints mainly intended for publications edited in the city of Osaka (大阪). The work, generally cataloged with the title "Pleading with a Beauty" and designed to be used as a frontispiece for a novel, does not have the usual fold lines. From this it can be deduced that the print was never included in the volume for which it was intended, probably because the book itself was never actually printed and marketed. The woodcut on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite the right signs of aging including slight stains, is in good general condition.
