We are on Mount Tsutsudo (筒戸山), in the ancient Shimosa Province (下総国). The warrior Inaba Taro Onikado (稲葉太郎鬼門) has removed the area from the control of the gang of Kutsudo Wakanmaru (屈童倭漢丸) and now, barricaded in a temple, he must defend himself from the assault of the forces of the samurai Imagawa Nakaaki (今川仲秋).

The work, taken from the famous series "Sagas of Beauty and Bravery" (美勇水滸伝) by the artist Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (月岡芳年), was produced in December 1866 by the publisher Omiya Kyujiro (近江屋久次郎), owner of Kiyudo (亀遊堂), and by the carver Matsushima Fusajiro (松島彫房).

The print on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite the right signs of aging, a partial trimming of the margins and the presence of restorations on small holes, is in overall good condition, thanks also to an effective relining carried out on the back.
