Refined abuna-e (あぶな絵) woodblock print taken from the erotic book "A River of Admonitions for Women with Love Letters" (女令川趣文) made in 1771 by the artist Tsukioka Settei (月岡雪鼎). The print portrays a man in the company of two young women playing with a temari (手まり) ball, as well as hanetsuki (羽根突き), a kind of badminton.

The work was made as an illustration of the first of the precepts listed in the aforementioned volume which reads: «A woman should never let herself become careless and lose her charm» (常の心ざし不嗜にして色をうしなふ事).

The print on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite the right signs of aging and in particular slight stains and wrinkles, is in overall good condition.
