Original woodblock print of horizontal koban (小判) format, made in November 1853 by the artist Utagawa Yoshikazu (歌川芳員). The print is dedicated to the Ishiyakushi station (石薬師宿), in the ancient Ise Province (伊勢国), and depicts a traveling monk who approaches two women conversing on the veranda of a shop.

The work, produced by the publisher Tsutaya Umejiro (蔦屋梅次郎), is taken from the series "Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido" (東海道五十三次内) and is entitled "Ishiyakushi: 27 cho to Shono" (庄野へ二七丁).

The polychrome woodcut on Japanese washi paper (和紙) is in very good general condition.
