Fine original woodblock print made by the artist Utagawa Kunisada II (二代目歌川国貞) and depicting the geisha Kokatsu (小かつ) at the Senchoro (川長楼) restaurant. The work is taken from the series "An Assortment of Beauties in the Modern Style" (今様美人揃) and was produced in January 1863 by the publisher Daikokuya Heikichi (大黒屋平吉), owner of Shojudo (松寿堂).

In the top right inset, a haiku (俳句) poetic composition signed by Manzai (万左喜) which reads: «May the sky light up / with the beauty / of the pines and fidelity» (はるかせや / 松も操の / 美しき).

The print on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite minor restorations on woodworm holes and a vertical fold mark on the right margin, is in good general condition.
