Elegant painting on silk entitled "White Fuji" (白富士) and depicting the snowy peak of the mountain soaring above the woods and the mist. Mount Fuji (富士山) is the highest mountain in Japan and is considered one of the "Three Holy Mountains" (三霊山) of the country, along with Mount Tate (立山) and Mount Haku (白山), and many Japanese consider it a duty to go on a pilgrimage on its slopes at least once in their life.

This shikishi (色紙) was made by Umehara Toshi (梅原塘士), an artist of the Sojokai (爽床会) circle, born in 1950, working in the Gifu Prefecture (岐阜県) and specialized in landscape painting.

The work, made on a thick cardboard with golden edges, is in very good condition.
