Fine original woodblock print of the kuchi-e (口絵) type, made by the artist Takeuchi Keishu (武内桂舟) as the frontispiece of the novel "Doromizu shimizu" (泥水清水), that is "Muddy Water, Clear Water" by the novelist and journalist Emi Suiin (江見水蔭), a pillar of the Meiji era (明治時代) literary establishment.

The work, printed in April 1896, is taken from vol. 2 n. 5 of Bungei Kurabu (文芸倶楽部), the famous literary magazine published from 1895 to 1933 by the Hakubunkan (博文館) publishing house.

The print on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite the right signs of aging, is in good general condition.
